1Common Questions
Account creation and login
You can create a Kena account with an email address and password, or sign in instantly with your Google or Apple account. When you register with email, we send a one-time verification code to confirm it's really you — check your inbox (and spam folder) for that code.
If you signed up with Google or Apple, always use that same option to log back in. Mixing sign-in methods for the same email address can cause a "this account already exists" error.
Password recovery
Tap Forgot Password on the login screen and enter your registered email address. We'll send you a one-time code to reset your password. If the code doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder or request a new one.
If you signed up using Google or Apple Sign-In, your account doesn't have a Kena password — log in through the same provider instead.
Emotional check-ins / Daily Pulse
Daily Pulse is your daily emotional check-in — log how you're feeling, set an aspirational emotion for the day, and reflect at the end of it. If a Daily Pulse reminder doesn't appear, make sure notifications are enabled for Kena in your device settings and that you have an active internet connection.
Activities
Use Activities to plan and log the things you do throughout the day and track how often you do them. If an activity you logged isn't showing up in your history or trends, try closing and reopening the app, or check that you're logged into the correct account.
Your Circle
Your Circle lets you invite trusted contacts and share selected entries or community posts with them. To invite someone, use the invite option from the Circle/community section and share the link or code with them. Only content you choose to share is visible to your Circle — private journal entries stay private.
Notifications
If you're not receiving reminders or activity notifications, check that notifications are allowed for Kena in your device's system settings, and that in-app notification preferences (if available) are turned on. Reinstalling the app or logging out and back in can also refresh notification delivery.
Premium subscriptions
Kena offers weekly, monthly, and yearly Premium plans that unlock the app's full feature set. Pricing and plan details are shown in the app before you subscribe. On iOS, subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID; on Android, through Paystack.
Subscription cancellation
You can cancel anytime and you'll keep Premium access until the end of your current billing period — there are no partial refunds for unused time except where required by law. See the Subscription Support section below for exact cancellation steps.
Restore purchases
If you've reinstalled the app or switched devices, use the Restore Purchases option in the app's account or subscription settings to reconnect your existing subscription without paying again. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google Play account originally used to purchase.
General app issues
Most issues are resolved by force-closing and reopening the app, checking your internet connection, or updating to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. If a problem persists, email us at customersupport@kena.life with a short description and, if possible, a screenshot.
2Subscription Support
Weekly, monthly, and yearly plans
Kena Premium is available as a weekly, monthly, or yearly auto-renewing subscription. All plans unlock the same Premium features; they differ only in billing frequency and price, both shown in the app before purchase.
Managing or cancelling your Apple subscription
Subscriptions purchased on iOS are managed entirely through your Apple ID, not within the Kena app. To cancel or change your plan:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions
- Select Kena and choose Cancel Subscription (or change your plan)
Cancelling stops future renewals; you'll keep Premium access until the end of the period you already paid for. On Android, subscriptions are purchased and can be managed through Paystack as described at the time of purchase.
Restoring purchases
To restore a previous purchase (for example, after reinstalling Kena or switching phones), open the app, go to the account or subscription screen, and tap Restore Purchases. This re-links your existing subscription to your account using the Apple ID or Google Play account you originally subscribed with — it does not charge you again.
Premium not activated after purchase
If you've completed a purchase but Premium features aren't unlocked:
- Confirm the payment went through in your Apple ID or Play Store purchase history
- Tap Restore Purchases in the app to force a re-sync
- Make sure you're logged into the same Kena account you used when you purchased
- Close and reopen the app, or check for an internet connection, since activation requires reaching our servers
If Premium still isn't active after trying the above, email customersupport@kena.life with your account email and, if available, a screenshot of your purchase receipt so we can activate it manually.
3Technical Support
Login problems
Double-check you're using the correct sign-in method (email/password, Google, or Apple) for your account — an account created with one method can't log in with another. If you forgot your password, use Forgot Password to reset it. Still stuck? Contact support with the email address on your account.
App crashes
Update Kena to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play, then restart your device. If crashes continue, let us know your device model, OS version, and app version, along with what you were doing right before it crashed.
Missing data
Missing journal entries, activities, or history are almost always caused by being signed into the wrong account, or a connectivity issue that prevented a sync. Confirm you're logged into the correct account and have a stable internet connection. If data is still missing, contact support as soon as possible with your account email and details of what's missing.
Premium access issues
See Subscription Support above for restoring purchases and resolving activation issues.
Notification issues
Check that notifications are enabled for Kena under your device's system settings (Settings → Notifications on iOS, or App info → Notifications on Android), and that the app has permission to run in the background. Logging out and back in refreshes your device's notification registration.
Other technical problems
For anything not covered here, email us at customersupport@kena.life with a description of the issue, your device and app version, and steps to reproduce it if possible — this helps us resolve it faster.
